As you know, spoilers for the end of the series are coming out tomorrow in the form of a kid's book. This was probably planned with the original intended release of the episodes, and for whatever reason they couldn't change it when they delayed the airing schedule.
I know spoilers have been a big topic on all the ATLA comms for the past few weeks, and we've been pretty strict about it here.
Thank you, thank you, for being patient with us. Thank you for respecting your fellow members; overall, you guys have been great and believe me, we know how much of a headache all this is.
The community is still on mod-approved entries right now. We were actually about to back to unmoderated status until we found out about the book with the end of the story being released this week. We decided to stay as we are for a little while, just in case a troll decides to try what again to spoiler-bomb all the LJ comms.
I know a lot of people have differing opinions about whether spoilers really matter if the episode is aired in another country, or leaked onto the internet. These are real and valid concerns, and we understand that you want a place with your fellow shippers where you can talk about spoiler stuff.
What's comming out with the book is different. It's not just episodes that everyone can buy on DVD. It's not just episodes that anyone can download off a torrent. At least those you can
watch....you're still seeing a whole
episode.This "Sozin's Comet" book... it's
the series finale. These are the last spoilers you're going to get, the biggest ones you can get. This is how it all ends. Written in a book for 6-11 year olds.
Please, please respect your fellow members and don't spoil people in comments or in posts. Don't send spoilery stuff to the posting queue that we'll be forced to read. I want to see the fights and the tears and the epic speeches for the first time on the show itself, not in a kid's book.
It's one thing to be ruined for the middle of the season. It's far, far worse to be ruined for the very end of your favorite tv show. Celebrate or rage as you please in your own journals, or in
spoil_me_atla. Please--and thank you, as well.
Most sincerely yours,
Rashaka
