Heroes 2x07: Out of Time
Also, currently, I reading the latest Trek novel, Before Dishonor by Peter David. The focus, unfortunately, is the Borg again, as it pertains to Janeway and Seven. ~sigh~ Talk about beating a dead horse. I'm *hoping* I'll enjoy it since it's Peter David. Thus far the highlight has been the appearance of "Lady Q" (as Janeway names her) who was portrayed by Suzie Plakson in the series and is one of my very favorite actresses (she also was K'Ehleyr on TNG). I'm about 3 or 4 chapters in and am a bit confused already which doesn't bode well.
Related to that, I did have to cringe a bit and at the same time nod knowingly at some of Lady Q's comments to Janeway in the opening prologue. Something about Janeway not even realizing it if she ever lost her soul. Yowch. But considering who she became by the end of the series...can't say I disagree. And I did so like her for the first half of the series. Until Borg-land and 38ofD took over and Janeway morphed into Rambette, and the lovely chemistry developing between her and Chakotay sorta fizzled and burned as did Chakotay's character. Of course, as one would expect, I do lay most of the blame at Braga's feet since he's also the one who ruined Enterprise and got the series cancelled due to inept handling.
Me? Have issues? Nah.....
First, I just have to say that I had *so* guessed that the British fake Kensei would turn out to be Adam by halfway through the episode. *Before* Hiro blew him up. Probably just about the moment he said that he would make Hiro suffer and hurt everyone he ever loved. It probably should've occured to me some time ago that if you can heal from anything, that would most likely also include the natural dying of cells process that makes someone get older. Which means Adam won't age and probably neither will Claire.
Having the virus change was unexpected. Perhaps a result of Hiro's breaking and sorta-fixing (a bandaid really) of time and making Adam a bad guy?
Hiro's back to the present. And meets up with Ando - good. Finds out his father has been murdered - bad. Losing yet another love - another bad. And losing a friend - bad. And that last legend of Kensei having to fight the Dragon... Um...would that be Adam? In the future? With swords?
And what is it with some of these names which (to me) could mean something more. First Noah. And now Adam. Or maybe that's my Christian education talking. :-) Hmm....I should probably include Peter and Gabriel (Sylar's real first name) and Isaac in that list. Ponder, ponder.
Matt defeating his father and saving Molly was very cool. Mohinder getting a gun to go hunt down Noah and get Claire ... not so much.
And Peter...poor, amnesiac Peter. He almost manages to find himself, then loses the one person he'd connected to, Caitlin, who I actually quite liked, and now he's back to the present, matched up with bad guy. Hmm...somewhat reminiscent of Mohinder and Sylar last season. Though at least Nathan knows he's alive now.
Can't wait until next week to find out everything that happened in that four month gap. Did Peter paint all those paintings? Or did Isaac? Don't think I much care about Elle right now, other than finding out who her daddy is. Bob? Adam??
All-in-all, I enjoyed this episode much more than last week since it focused on the characters I like. Yummy.

Though I think the Borg may be copying what the Replicators did in Stargate -- becoming more human in appearance, including Janeway as the new queen. Heh. Fitting.
