Since nothing has come out as of late that I want to buy (such as dvd sets) to watch and there's pretty much nothing much of interest on, I decided to dig back into my shelves and pull out Angel season one to rewatch. Season one, I thought, was pretty good. Angel got too... bizarre later on and kept sliding back and forth between good and not-so-good. Hard to watch. Plus the show was a bit lighter. And it had Doyle who I really liked as a character.
In any case, I watched "In the Dark" this evening in which Spike guest-starred, pre-chip. I had forgotten how deliciously snarky he was way back when -- *especially when it came to Angel. Heh. His voiceover in the teaser scene of Angel and the damsel-in-distress is one of my favorite scenes to watch. I loved that scene even before I really started to like Spike. One of the things I most appreciated about the writing of Spike and Angel, especially when the former joined the cast in season five, is that they didn't still really like each other, though they managed some sort of respect for each other's skills.
Anywho...just some much belated commentary...
